This fast-growing rambling rose features scented, semi-double flowers that bloom repeatedly from July to September. The clusters begin as yellow with a salmon pink flush and transition to cream as they mature. Ideal for cottage gardens, this hardy plant thrives in full sun and fertile, humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil. These roses are field-grown and harvested in October or November. They are supplied in pots to keep roots hydrated during dormancy, though new root growth will not begin until spring. While they can stay in pots through winter if properly watered and fed, they should ideally be planted promptly. They arrive pre-pruned, so only dead tips need removal until routine maintenance begins the following late winter. For winter planting, ensure the ground is not frozen. Dig a hole twice the width of the roots and mix in composted matter. Use a general-purpose fertiliser and a root growth supplement, particularly in areas where roses have previously grown, to encourage development. Position the plant so the bud union is at soil level, then back-fill and water well. Provide support, such as arches or trees, tying stems horizontally as they grow. Maintain regular watering until established and apply rose fertiliser and a mulch of composted manure each spring, keeping it away from the stems. To maintain the plant, one in three of the oldest stems can be removed at the base once the space is filled. For overgrown plants, renovation can be performed from late autumn to late winter by removing dead or weak stems and shortening side shoots on the remaining young stems.
