Poultry Scalder The stainless-steel poultry scalder speeds up the plucking process by scalding birds like chickens, ducks, geese, or turkeys in about 30 seconds. This opens up the pores, making feather removal effortless. To check the scald, simply pluck a wing feather - if it pulls easily, the bird is ready to be plucked. Over-scalding may damage the skin, so follow the recommended scalding times.
