    New Business Lead

    As a result of our continued growth and ongoing success, we are seeking a dynamic New Business Lead to be based at our London Great Portland Street Office.

     

    About the Role:

    The New Business Lead will play a crucial role in expanding The Range Marketplace by identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new sellers. This role is responsible for sourcing sellers whose product offerings align with the platform’s key and expanding categories, customer expectations, and long-term strategic objectives. Possessing strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of Marketplace dynamics, enabling the assessment of seller potential and the facilitation of a smooth onboarding process. In addition to building a robust pipeline of sellers, the New Business Lead will work closely with wider areas of the business to ensure new sellers are set up for long-term success, contributing to assortment growth, customer satisfaction, and the overall strength and performance of the Marketplace. You will report directly to the Marketplace Manager.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify, recruit and onboard new sellers across priority categories in line with Marketplace growth objectives.
    • Develop and implement seller acquisition strategies to achieve new business and revenue targets.
    • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective sellers, tracking opportunities from lead generation through to onboarding.
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities and emerging trends.
    • Lead the full sales cycle, including prospecting, outreach, presentations, negotiations and contract completion.
    • Carry out seller vetting and compliance checks, ensuring all partners meet required standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Support new sellers through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and successful launch onto the Marketplace.
    • Provide ongoing support during the early stages of the seller relationship, helping partners maximise performance and engagement.
    • Manage product onboarding activities, ensuring listings are accurate and launched in a timely manner.
    • Work closely with Account Management teams to ensure a seamless handover of new sellers.
    • Represent the business at trade shows, webinars and industry events to attract and engage prospective sellers.
    • Monitor, analyse and report on key performance indicators, including seller acquisition, onboarding and revenue growth.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support seller launches and improve onboarding processes.
    • Lead and support team members, providing coaching, guidance and performance management where required.

     

    Person Specification:

    Essential

    • Proven experience in business development, sales, partnership management or seller acquisition within a marketplace, eCommerce or digital platform environment.
    • Experience managing seller onboarding and building long-term commercial relationships.
    • Knowledge and experience of seller and product compliance requirements.
    • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities.
    • Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
    • Experience managing a sales pipeline and delivering against acquisition targets.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and performance metrics.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.

    Desired

    • Experience working within a marketplace platform environment.
    • Experience using Mirakl Marketplace or similar marketplace management platforms.
    • Experience within retail, eCommerce or online selling environments.
    • Leadership or team management experience.
    • Experience delivering onboarding or training sessions to partners or sellers.
    • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
    • Knowledge of marketplace operations, seller lifecycle management and product onboarding processes.
    • Experience using CRM, ticketing or seller support systems such as Zendesk.

    Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:45am – 17:30pm.

    Location: London & Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite.
