Job Purpose:
Are you looking to pursue a career in the exciting world of retail? Then look no further! The Range Home, Leisure and Garden was started in 1989 by owner Chris Dawson and has since grown into a chain of 45 superstores selling everything that a customer would ever need for their home, leisure or garden. With plans to expand our online offering through the development of a new website, a position has opened up within the busy eCommerce department.
Responsibilities include:
- - Taking complete ownership of a department/departments online offering
- - Planning stock availability for new and existing products.
- - Working cross functionally with the buying team(s) to make decisions regarding product range/selection
- - Writing quality product descriptions that are optimised for search engines (SEO)
- - Liaising with suppliers to source images/product specifications for products to go online
- - Editing product images prior to upload
- - Uploading product images and descriptions to the website using the website's content management system (training to be provided)
- - Liaising with the marketing department to source photography for products where images are not available from the supplier
- - Make recommendations to refine and develop product page merchandising and presentation
- - Managing the meta-data and keywords for individual products to ensure effective organic search indexing
- - Analysing Google analytics to identify opportunities for new department categories/products to go online
- - Driving quality traffic to the website.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- - Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a good eye for detail
- - Commercially aware to maximise sales and profit opportunities
- - Previous online or in-store retail experience
- - The ability to communicate with a number of various stakeholders across a number of different departments
- - The ability to work closely with our outside agencies, suppliers and other departments to co-ordinate and collate product information
- - The ability to work effectively under pressure and to severely tight deadlines
- - An excellent command of written and spoken English with copy accuracy
- - A confident manner especially when in meetings and on the phone
- - Knowledge of Photoshop and HTML would be preferential
- - Excellent knowledge of MS office
- - The ability to self-manage and work as an individual taking ownership of a project or area of the website
Hours Work:
Monday to Friday 08:45 - 17:30
